The Oceans of Possibilities Summer Reading Program continues through July in the Latah County Library District. Registration is open through Thursday, July 28th. Registrants can enter to win prizes and participate in fun free events for all ages of readers. All Summer Reading Events are free and open to the public. July 5– Tuesday­– 3:00 p.m. – 7 p.m. – Potlatch Public Library – TO-GO STEM Activity Kit. Each Tuesday pick up a take home bag (first come first serve) for children to do a project with their family.

 

July 7 – Thursday – 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. – Juliaetta Community Library – Rope Making with Tom Crook. Participants are invited to join us at the library to learn how to create rope and take some home!

 

July 7 – Thursday – 1:00 p.m.- 2:00 p.m. – Moscow Public Library grounds – Reptile Man, Scott Peterson. Summer Readers of all ages are invited to join us for a fun filled & scaly experience with educator and zoologist Scott Petersen of The Reptile Zoo will present live reptiles in an exciting show that teaches the importance of all animals in nature. Scott has been featured nationally on Disney’s Bill Nye the Science Guy and on PBS’ Biz Kids. He has appeared on Northwest Afternoon, Evening Magazine, and NPR Radio. Many corporations such as Microsoft, Boeing and Nintendo have used Scott to educate and entertain. We hope you’ll join us for turtles, and lizards, and alligators.

July 7 – Thursday – 11:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. – Genesee Community Library – STEM TO-GO Activity. Youth of all ages are invited to pop into the Genesee Community Library anytime from 11:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and pick up a Clay Sea Creature Kit.  Use your air dry clay and either follow the directions to make your creature, or create something from your imagination!  Pick up a surprise STEM Take-a-way to put together at home or on vacation. This Take-a-way will be available beginning Thursday, July 7th and until all supplies are gone.

July 7 – Thursday – 3:00 p.m.- 4:30 p.m. – Potlatch Public Library – Building Bird Houses. Participants of all ages are invited to the Potlatch Library to build simple bird houses! Upon completion, participants can either take their creation home when or donate it to the backyard bird project at the library! Potlatch Library will supply all the supplies!  Children must be supervised by an adult.

July 7 – Thursday – 6:00 p.m. – 8 p.m. – Moscow East City Park. Entertainment in the Park. Community members of all ages are invited to join The Moscow Public Library and the City of Moscow Arts Department at East City Park for Entertainment in the Park! Entertainment in the Park takes place every summer at Moscow’s East City Park. This series aligns the Moscow Arts Commission’s arts education programming with the Moscow Public Library’s summer reading program, which encourages school-aged children to engage in reading and learning throughout the summer. Tonight’s Event features: Storytime with the Moscow Public Library, The Reptile Man, and musical entertainment by Eric Herman and the Puppy Dogs.
