April 26, 2022 (Moscow, Idaho) —The ongoing safety improvement project on Third Street is moving to the next step, upgrading the illumination on the corridor to historic style LED lighting.

To prepare for the installation of the new pedestrian lighting Avista Utilities will be removing the existing street lighting starting May 2, 2022. The new street lights will be installed one block at a time and will be illuminated as soon as they are functional. During the project phase, residents are asked to be aware of the temporary light removal on Third Street from early May to the end of August. Local business access is open during construction. The City appreciates the public’s patience as these necessary repairs and upgrades are made to the City’s infrastructure.

ADA accessibility is a top priority for the City in all projects.  If this project or any other City project is found to be impacting anyone’s ability to access public services, please call 208-883-7600.

Every effort will be made to adhere to the daily schedule; however, unforeseen circumstances may require adjustment. For questions about the project, including the project schedule or concerns about resident access, please contact the City of Moscow Engineering Division at 208-883-7034.
