Moscow, ID – In support of education in Latah County, United Way of Moscow/Latah County in coordination with the Troy School District and The Porter Project are providing Troy students, kindergarten through second grade, with the Porter the Hoarder series. “The Porter Project’s mission is to create connections through literacy and engagement. The Porter the Hoarder series joins Bigs with Littles, connects schools to families, and organizations to their communities in a way that engages, educates, and excites!” For more information or to donate visit latahunitedway.org. United Way of Moscow/Latah County strives to support the health, education and financial stability of all those in our community. In Latah County roughly 44% of households are classified as ALICE or below. ALICE, Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed, also referred to as “the working poor” are those just above the poverty line, who are vulnerable to one unexpected life event sending them into crisis. Through United Way of Moscow/Latah County donations can have the greatest impact on our community. United Way partners with local agencies to work toward fighting food insecurity, providing emergency shelter, helping kids succeed, building strong families, promoting health and independence, preventing violence, and protecting elderly at risk.
