The City of Moscow and the Moscow Arts Commission announce the opening of the “re: present” exhibition at the Third Street Gallery from July 18th to August 22nd, 2024.

The artist reception from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 22nd, will feature readings by Moscow Poet Laureate, Stacy Boe Miller, and other poets in the community. Readings will begin at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers on the 2nd floor of Moscow City Hall.  “Artworks in this exhibition explore the entire spectrum of representational approaches to painting,” said City of Moscow Arts Manager, Megan Cherry. “The act of making a representational artwork calls for the artist to be present, to be fully immersed in the subject matter. The surface of a representational artwork may depict what something looks like, but it functions more deeply as an artifact of communion between the artist and the subject.”

Entries for this exhibition were juried by artist and University of Idaho arts educator, Val Carter.
