BookPeople of Moscow welcomes the authors and illustrator of “Idaho Rocks!: A Guide to Geologic Sites in the Gem State” and “Roadside Geology of Idaho” 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, July 3. Reed Lewis and Mark McFaddan (“Idaho Rocks”), Keegan Schmidt (“Roadside Geology of Idaho”) and illustrator Chelsea Feeney will be in front of the store during the Farmers Market to sign books and answer questions. Books will be available for sale and signing.
“Idaho Rocks!” is a guide to 60 of the most compelling geologic sites in Idaho from the 2.6-billion-year-old gneiss in the Panhandle and 2,000-year-old lava at Craters of the Moon to gold and silver deposits hidden in Idaho’s mountains and visible scars from recent earthquakes and landslides.
In the completely revised edition written by experienced field geologists, “Roadside Geology of Idaho” guides readers describing the rocks and landscapes visible outside your car window.
