December 12, 2022 (Moscow, Idaho) — The City of Moscow is pleased to share results from this year’s Light up the Season event.
The 2022 Most DeLIGHTful Downtown Storefront title is bestowed to Moscow Axe Throwing Company who partnered with Palouse Tax Services on their storefront décor. Out of the 374 valid votes received, Moscow Axe Throwing captured 33% of votes. They were followed by Café Artista with 26% of the votes, Moscow Contemporary with 24%, and Latah Realty with 17%. Moscow Axe Throwing will have their business name engraved on the traveling DeLIGHTful Downtown trophy and will be able to display it in their store over the course of 2023.
Thirty floats rolled along Main Street for the parade portion of Light up the Season. Prior to the procession, Mayor Bettge and Councilmember Lewis judged floats competing for best float in four categories. This year’s float winners are:
St. Mary’s Parish School (Best Youth entry)
Washington Trust Bank (Best Business entry)
Latah County Democrats (Best General entry)
Idaho Central Credit Union (Best Lights entry)
As a show of community support and remembrance, Light up the Season was dedicated to Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Ethan Chapin, Xana Kernodle.
City of Moscow staff thanks Avista Utilities, Breezy Tree Farm, Home and Harvest Magazine, Little Shop of Florals, Moscow Contemporary, University of Idaho Greek life, and Washington State University volunteers for coming together and making this year’s Light up the Season a night of love, community, and strength.
