Parlor Talk with the Clearwater Fly Casters

Please join us on Tuesday, September 17th at the historic McConnell Mansion for a Parlor Talk featuring the Clearwater Fly Casters, who will be discussing the history and art of fly tying. The Clearwater Fly Casters, a member club of Fly Fishers International and Trout Unlimited, are a local fly fishing group consisting of beginners up to internationally recognized experts. In addition to the sport, members are involved with related environmental and conservation issues with a focus on fish and wildlife habitat protection and restoration in northern Idaho and central and eastern Washington.

Doors open at 5:30pm with the program beginning at 6pm. This event is free and open to the public and light refreshments will be provided.

The Parlor Talks series is part of our current exhibit, “Those Wacky Victorians: Early 1800s Hobbies,” open now through October at the McConnell Mansion. From fly tying to art made of human hair, the cabinet of curiosities to a particular fascination with spiritualism, you’ll learn all about the diversions and amusements enjoyed by people of the 1800s. The Mansion is located at 110 South Adams St in Moscow, and can be visited Tuesday through Friday, 1 to 4pm, and some Saturdays.
