Mayor’s Arts Awards Event – Nov. 7
The Moscow Arts Commission and the City of Moscow announce the Mayor’s Arts Awards event to be held in the 1912 Center Great Room at 7 p.m. on Thursday, November 7, 2024.
The public is invited to celebrate alongside the 2024 Mayor’s Arts Awards recipients as well as their families and friends. The 2024 award recipients receive a custom-designed artwork made by a local artist, Jana Vrtelova Holbert. Receiving awards this year are:
• Ellen Rahilly for Youth Excellence in the Arts
• Dylan Champagne for Individual Excellence in the Arts
• Stephanie Wilkes for Individual Excellence in the Arts
• Val Carter for Outstanding Achievement in Arts Education
• Palouse Hills Weavers’ Guild for Lifetime Achievement in the Arts |

The ceremony will feature a presentation of awards by Mayor Art Bettge. The event will also include desserts made by Goose House Bakery, a no-host bar by Pour Company, and music by DJ Def Jim. The event is open to the public and attendance is available free of charge.

About the Mayor’s Arts Awards
The Mayor’s Arts Awards recognize individuals and organizations who have shown substantial support of and excellence in the arts. The event has maintained a biennial schedule since its inception in 1998. The nomination and selection processes are facilitated by City of Moscow Arts staff and members of the Moscow Arts Commission and finalized by the Mayor.
Nominations were accepted from March–May, 2024 in the following award categories:
• Individual Excellence in the Arts
• Arts Advocacy
• Outstanding Achievement in Arts Education
• Youth Excellence in the Arts
• Outstanding College or University Students in the Arts
• Outstanding Contribution as a Business
• Lifetime Achievement in the Arts |
