Beginning Friday, May 16, 2022 through Friday, May 23, 2022 the Bill Chipman Palouse Trail will be spot sprayed for noxious weeds. Precise times and days of herbicide application will be determined based on weather conditions. Areas will be clearly posted during spray work. Trail goers should be alert to the ongoing activity. Users with a greater sensitivity to chemicals should be aware of these dates and ongoing operations. The Parks Department is required by law to control noxious weeds. The sensitivities of the corridor have been considered in the overall weed management program. Trail users should continue to be mindful of yielding to vehicular traffic at trail/road intersections. For additional information, please contact Whitman County Parks Department at (509) 397-6238.
