February 21, 2025(Moscow, Idaho) — The City of Moscow Public Works Department is actively monitoring Paradise Creek, Hogg Creek, and the South Fork of the Palouse River this weekend due to suddenly warm, wet, and breezy conditions following the recent heavy snow accumulations. Increased rainfall and snowmelt may lead to lowland flooding and clogged storm drains in certain areas.

The City is taking proactive measures to ensure public safety and minimize potential impacts. However, residents can play a vital role in mitigating flood risks and preventing blockages by clearing any ice and snow from storm drain lids near their homes, if they are able to do so safely. Additionally, sandbags are available at the City Shop, located at 650 N Van Buren, for those who might need them to protect their property.

Residents in need of further assistance should contact the Street/Stormwater Department at (208) 883-7097. The City of Moscow remains committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of its community members.
