We’re hiring a reliable and detail-oriented Facilities Custodian to join our team. In this part-time (mornings preferred) role, you’ll help maintain a clean, safe, and presentable environment across Alturas Analytics’ facilities through daily cleaning, periodic deep cleaning, light maintenance, and basic exterior upkeep. You’ll play an important role in supporting a comfortable workplace that allows our team to focus on high-quality scientific work.
Starting pay: $17.21/ hour, DOE
Part time: Monday- Friday; 20 hours/week (morning shifts preferred); may require one Saturday shift per month

Position Summary:
The Facilities Custodian is responsible for performing custodial and light maintenance tasks to ensure a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment at Alturas Analytics.
Essential Duties and Tasks:
Clean and sanitize Alturas facilities, including kitchen, bathrooms, office spaces, and laboratory spaces, maintaining a consistent standard of cleanliness throughout work hours
Perform periodic deep-cleaning, such as shampooing carpet and office furniture
Perform light maintenance in facilities, including painting, dusting light fixtures, glass cleaning, and HVAC filter replacement
Communicate equipment malfunctions, supply needs, and building repair issues to supervisor promptly
Perform exterior maintenance, including:
General landscaping upkeep (weeding, light pruning, raking and disposal of leaves and seasonal debris)
Snow and ice removal from walkways, entrances
Maintain cleanliness of outdoor areas (sweeping sidewalks, entryways)
Additional Duties and Tasks:
Provide assistance to Laboratory Management and Office Manager as needed
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
Education and Experience Requirements:
High School Diploma
1-3 years of work experience
Current driver’s license
Skills and Abilities Requirements:
Strong attention to detail
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Proactive approach to identifying and addressing cleaning and maintenance needs
Good communication skills for reporting issues and coordinating with supervisors
